The Australian Off Road Management Group has today released further information following their announcement of Tuesday 17th January to move to AASA as a sanctioning body.

The Australian Off Road Management Group have set up a caretaker board composed of delegates from the clubs listed in the 17th January release to be responsible for overseeing the transition to AASA.

The Board positions will be opened up and be democratically elected within 12 months. Their aim is to have a voting process established that will allow clubs, competitors and other stakeholders to have input into the rules and decisions that affect the sport and safety.

The Australian Off Road Management Group encourages any competitor or official wishing to compete or volunteer at a AASA sanctioned event to apply for a licence and vehicle passport from AASA, however, you are able to compete with your current competition licence and vehicle log book during the transition process. In time, AASA would prefer competitors to be transitioned to the AASA vehicle passbook and licence.

AASA and the Australian Off Road Management Group advise the following costing for licences:

Club Level licence - $75
National/State Level licence - $150
Club Level Event Licence (Driver or Navigator) - $25
National/State level Event licence (Navigator only) - $50

Specific vehicle requirements are being prepared and will be available shortly once these have been finalised.

Information packs will be available soon and the Australian Off Road Management Group invite any other clubs that are interested in conducting their events with the support from the Australian Off Road Management Group and AASA to contact them with any questions.
